As we get close to the graduation season, here are a six life lessons for all of you Art/Design graduates. Actually, theses are still good even if you have been out of school for a while.
1. Keep the Lines Open
After all the hours you spent building relationships with both fellow students and professors, capitalize on those networks. Keep the lines of communication open and keep in touch with people you connected with. Often times, as we all go our ways after college or grad school, we forget about people. Over the years, I have found that keeping in touch with key individuals has been a great asset to my career and theirs. I’m still in touch with my very first college professors. Additionally, you never know when you will need a hand, a recommendation or some other favor. After college, network is business currency.
