41 Winters is the title of my latest solo exhibition scheduled to open at 33 Contemporary Gallery on Friday December 21, 2012. After three years since showing solo at my gallery, I return with a special project inspired by the poem Winter Memories by Charlotte Bronte. 41 Winters represents forty-one years of my life. Winter has always been for me a season of change and self reflection. Some of my most significant works have taken shape in the winter months perhaps as a reflection of my sensitivity to this season.
41 Winters departs from my large figurative works and delves in an intimate exploration of abstract forms, textures, words, and layering of materials. Each of the 12″x12″ works in the series incorporates a text selection from Brontë’s Winter poem.
In partnership with 3c Wear, I will donate twenty percent of the sales to purchase school supplies for local children in need. 3c Wear is a family-owned company with one vision in mind, making Inspired Clothing to Inspire Giving. They inspire children, their parents and friends to make a difference in this world by providing opportunities to give something meaningful to children in need. For every product they sell, they give a school supply kit or a school uniform to a school age child in need.
